I’ve been training at Forge since 2019 (in the gym’s old location!), and throughout that time, the
quality of the gym and the community created at Forge have been top-tier. I started as a casual
weight-lifter, just as a way to stay in shape and because I liked the changes it was making to my body.
However, through training at Forge, I’ve learned that there can be so much more to the gym than just
staying in shape. At this point, going to Forge is as much of a social thing as it is for fitness. When I go
to Forge at 5pm, I immediately see 10+ people that I know by name and can chat to, and I love that.
Going to another gym now, for example when traveling – it’s nowhere near as good an experience. I’m
really grateful for the community that owners Tina, Hal, and Locky have cultivated here with us as
members, one that’s about being inclusive to anyone, as well as being an active community partner
with things like fundraising for those in need. I’m proud to go to Forge. Thanks to the friends I’ve made
here, I was convinced to take powerlifting more seriously, just won the Forge annual deadlift
competition, and am training to compete in the Kraken, my first full powerlifting meet.
