What is HYROX Training?
HYROX Training translates the HYROX race fundamentals into a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to performance fitness that caters to not just HYROX participants, but any athlete, and empowers coaches to take a holistic view on an athlete’s physical and mental fitness journey.
HYROX is a hybrid, high-intensity workout that combines running and functional fitness movements. HYROX is meant to be trained in group classes which fosters community by creating a supportive, yet competitive environment, in which everyone strives from beginners to expert-level athletes.
What does a HYROX race look like?
HYROX is the World Series of Fitness Racing. The Race combines both running and functional workout stations, where participants run 1km followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated 8 times.
This race format remains consistent across the globe enabling global leaderboards and a cumulative World Championships at the end of each race season.
What can I expect from a HYROX class at Forge?
HYROX classes at Forge follow the HYROX training principles of Base Building, Pace Development, Performance Acceleration, and Prime (Strategic Deload). A proven structure that keeps athletes fresh, prevents plateaus, and ensures continuous forward progress.
Each class is designed around the four building blocks of HYROX Training: Power, Engine, and Foundational Movements as well as Complete classes that cover all of these components.
Consistent training through these principles ensures success and consistent progress in strength and fitness.
How fit do I have to be?
There is no minimum fitness requirement! HYROX is accessible to all levels and abilities, all you need to bring is effort.
I still want to train HYROX but the classes don't work for me, what are my other options?
HYROX Training is designed to be offered in a group class envirmonment. However, sometimes work and life schedules just don’t co-operate! Forge also has a open gym environment which is ideal for HYROX Training and has programming offerings available so that you can follow along on your own and join in when you can!
