"I used to play rugby, and I enjoyed strength training. Then lockdown hit, and I spent 2 years inactive putting on a silly amount of weight.
When I moved to Victoria last year it was time to get back in the gym, starting again from an empty barbell. I have lost 30 kgs so far, and I know my fittest years are still ahead of me. I am trying to include more conditioning work, and I would like to try a powerlifting meet for the experience.
Forge has been the perfect gym. It has a great vibe, and I love the equipment. Lifting here is part of my day that I always look forward to.
And shout out to the other late-night regulars - we all like to quietly do our own thing but it's always nice training around familiar people!"
